Abstract

บทวิจารณ์หนังสือ “Cases in Online Interview Research”Due to the emerging growth of new communicationplatforms, particularly, the Internet, online interviews are introduced as anew tool for researchers to better understand users or audiences in the digitalworld.  "Cases in Online InterviewResearch", published in 2012 and edited by Janet Salmons, showed casestudies in online interview research under different contexts such as healthand sociology.  The book covers variousmedia used in each study, including blogs, social network sites, and virtualworlds. Its explanations consist of comprehensive conceptual frameworks,relevant case studies, and examples from past researches taking place invarious social contexts. One benefit of this in terms of academic research isthat the book develops knowledge about qualitative research on Internet media.Furthermore, it is practical for new researchers to implement online interviewsin their studies by learning about the advantages and disadvantages from theprevious studies. This book has four main parts, which cover different methodsof an online interview.  In theintroduction, the book lays out the foundation of online interview research bydeveloping a new conceptual framework and operational definition so the readerscan have a clear picture of different researches. Part 1 presents the cases ofonline interview research on social network sites, including Blog and Facebook.Part 2 presents the cases of online interviews in a virtual world such asSecondlife, and Openwonderland.  Inaddition, this part also explains how to apply a virtual world in developingnew products.  Part 3 presents the caseswhich integrate traditional and online research.  Lastly, part 4 provides meta-analysis fromten case studies inthe book to conclude online interview research from past research Keywords:Qualitativeresearch, Online interview, Case studies, and Internet mediaบทคัดย่อรูปแบบการสื่อสารในยุคปัจจุบันได้เปลี่ยนไปจากในอดีตจากเดิมที่การติดต่อสื่อสารระหว่างบุคคลจะเป็นลักษณะแบบเผชิญหน้า แต่ในปัจจุบันคนในสังคมให้ความสำคัญกับการติดต่อสื่อสารผ่านสื่ออินเตอร์เน็ตมากขึ้น ทำให้นักวิจัยหลายท่านได้พัฒนาเครื่องมือการวิจัยบนโลกออนไลน์เพื่อทำความเข้าใจลักษณะทางจิตวิทยาและรูปแบบของพฤติกรรมที่เกิดขึ้นบนโลกออนไลน์ หนังสือเรื่อง “Cases inOnline Interview Research” หรือแปลเป็นภาษาไทยว่า “กรณีศึกษาการสัมภาษณ์ออนไลน์”ที่แต่งโดย Janet Salmons ในปี ค.ศ. 2012 ได้นำเสนอกรณีศึกษางานวิจัยที่ผ่านมาที่มีการใช้สัมภาษณ์ออนไลน์ในงานวิจัยภายใต้บริบทที่ต่างกันเช่น สุขภาพ การศึกษา หรือสังคมวิทยาโดยครอบคลุมการใช้สื่ออินเตอร์เน็ตที่แตกต่างกันออกไปทั้งสื่อประเภทบล็อก เว็บไซต์เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์หรือชุมชนเสมือนจริง ด้วยการนำเสนอเนื้อหาที่มีกรอบแนวคิด กรณีศึกษาและตัวอย่างจากงานวิจัยที่ผ่านมา ทำให้หนังสือเล่มนี้มีประโยชน์ทั้งด้านวิชาการในการศึกษาต่อยอดถึงการนำงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพมาประยุกต์ใช้ในสื่อบนอินเตอร์เน็ตและเป็นประโยชน์ในเชิงปฏิบัติให้กับนักวิจัยในการนำสื่อบนอินเตอร์เน็ตไปประยุกต์ในงานวิจัยที่สามารถเรียนรู้ข้อดีและข้อเสียที่เกิดจากการใช้สื่อบนอินเตอร์เน็ตจากงานวิจัยที่ผ่านมาหนังสือเล่มนี้ประกอบด้วยเนื้อหาจำนวน 4 ส่วนหลัก ในส่วนของการแนะนำผู้เขียนได้บรรยายให้ผู้อ่าน  ได้เข้าใจรูปแบบและการวิจัยที่มีการสัมภาษณ์ออนไลน์ โดยมีการสร้างพัฒนากรอบแนวคิดและการนิยามศัพท์เพื่อให้ผู้อ่านมองเห็นความแตกต่างของงานวิจัยต่างๆที่ได้หยิบยกมาเป็นกรณีศึกษา ส่วนที่ 1 กล่าวถึงงานวิจัย           ที่สามารถเป็นแนวทางการสัมภาษณ์ออนไลน์บนเว็บไซต์เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ผ่านสื่อทั้งบล็อกและเว็บไซต์เฟสบุ๊ค ส่วนที่ 2 เป็นการนำเสนองานวิจัยที่มีการสัมภาษณ์บนชุมชนเสมือนจริงบนเว็บไซต์เซกันด์ไลฟ์(Second Life) เว็บไซต์โอเพ่นวันเดอร์แลนด์ (OpenWonderland) รวมไปถึงการสร้างชุมชนเสมือนจริงขึ้นมาเองในการวิจัยเพื่อพัฒนาสินค้าส่วนที่ 3 กล่าวถึงงานวิจัยที่มีการนำการวิจัยแบบดั้งเดิมและการวิจัย บนโลกออนไลน์            มาประยุกต์ใช้และส่วนที่ 4 เป็นการสังเคราะห์งานวิจัยทั้ง 10 เรื่องเพื่อหาข้อสรุปของการสัมภาษณ์ออนไลน์ที่ผ่านมา คำสำคัญ: การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ การสัมภาษณ์ออนไลน์ กรณีศึกษา สื่ออินเตอร์เน็ต
