Abstract

This academic article presented the relative between the political development stage, Parenting styles, trust, and enhancing trust for reducing political conflict between parents and adolescents in the family. The political development stage refers to the political construct and represented political understanding. The political development stage develops from political socialization by talking, debating, observing, and political participation. Parenting styles were part of political socialization. Parenting styles affected the political development stage of adolescents, raised questions about the political concept, accept or decline parents' political orientations, and became a political conflict in a family between parent and adolescent. Authoritative parenting enhanced talking, debating, and listening together. But the political debates were a sensitive topic in Thailand's context. Adolescents are worried to debate with their parents because they lacked trust. Trust can enhance by adjusting to friendship relationships, keeping a promise, and honesty with adolescents. At last, trust can decrease political conflict in the family.
