Developing Online Teaching Materials on UI Design using Design Thinking Processes for 2nd Year Vocational Certificate Students

Abstract

This research aims to (1) develop an online learning media on UI Design using Design Thinking for second-year Vocational Certificate students, (2) compare the learning outcomes of UI Design using Design Thinking for second-year Vocational Certificate students in Graphic Design before and after learning with the online media, (3) examine the ability of students to design UI on websites, and (4) investigate the satisfaction of second-year Vocational Certificate students in Graphic Design at Nakhon Pathom Vocational College who learned through the online media on UI Design using Design Thinking. The sample consisted of 30 second-year Vocational Certificate students in Graphic Design at Nakhon Pathom Vocational College, selected through simple random sampling. The research tools included (1) a needs assessment survey, (2) a learning achievement measurement tool, (3) a UI design capability assessment tool using Design Thinking, and (4) a satisfaction questionnaire for the online media. Data were analyzed using mean, percentage, standard deviation, and t-test.

The research findings were as follows: (1) The online learning media on UI Design using Design Thinking for second-year Vocational Certificate students had very good quality in content and good quality in presentation. (2) Students' learning achievements after using the online media were significantly higher than before, at the 0.05 level. (3) The ability of students to design UI using Design Thinking after using the online media was significantly higher than before, at the 0.05 level. (4) The satisfaction level of students using the online media on UI Design using Design Thinking was very high.
