A Construction of Character Qualities Test of Srinakharinwirot University Students

Abstract

          The main purpose of this research was focused on The development of character qualities test of Srinakharinwirot University students. The sample consisted of 365 students for undergraduate students years 4 in the first semester year 2021 from Srinakharinwirot University, selected by a two-stage random sampling technique. The instrument used in the research were the 30 items of the situation test on character qualities and 30 items on the checklist.  The results of the research were as follows:

1. The character qualities test has an Index of Congruence (IOC) from 0.667 to 1.000. The difficulty varied from 0.289 to 0.659. The discriminations varied from 0.213 to 0.688. The internal consistency reliability of the test (KR-20) was 0.880. The construct validity of the character qualities test of Srinakharinwirot University students was curiosity, initiative, persistence/grit, adaptability, leadership, and social & cultural awareness analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis. The factor loading of six factors were 0.142, 0.213, 0.211, 0.172, 0.180, and 0.228
2. The checklist has an Index of Congruence (IOC) from 0.667 to 1.000 and the internal consistency reliability of the six factors (Alpha-Coefficient) were 0.882, 0.757, 0.825, 0.691, 0.598, and 0.791
