Approach of Development on Cultural Tourism Potentiality in area of Phranokornsri - ayathaya District, Phranakornsri - ayuthaya Province

Abstract

The research study consited of objectives: 1) to study current conditions and problems of temples being cultural tourism sites in Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya Province.
2) to increase the value of cultural temples tourism in Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya Province. 3) to study guideline for the development of potential in cultural temples tourism in Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya Province; It was conducted by quantitative research using questionnaires and qualitative by using in-depth interviews with the key informants: abbots of the temples being cultural tourism attraction, traders and related poeple, and analyze data by using the software package and summarizing descriptive explanation. The findings revealed that:

As for guideline for the development of potential in cultural temples tourism in Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya Province, it has been found that there are many temples providing cultural tourism, such as Wat Phanan Choeng, Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Kasatrathirat, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, Wat Ratchaburana, Wat Choeng Tha, Wat Mae Nang Pluem, Wat Chaiwatthanaram, and Wat Mahathat etc. In each temple, it has also been regarded as a place with long and valuable history.

As for the current conditions and problems of temples being cultural tourism sites in Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya Province, it has been found that the main problem is cleanliness, due to tourists coming to visit temples do not maintain cleanliness; even though the temple would have a place for garbage dumping, and also a problem of theft, causing tourists to not want to visit the temple.

As for increasing the value of cultural temples tourism in Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya Province, it has been found that tourist attractions in form of temple with arts and culture are Buddhist temples that enhance cultural knowledge and create wisdom for visitors or tourists from abroad to see the culture which creates pride for foreign tourists coming to see the beautiful things that are culture of the Thai nation, and also creating added value for temples that are cultural tourism sites will bring various added value to develop beautiful tourism.
