THE ESSENCE OF EMOTIONS IN SINGING: TECHNIQUES AND ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION

Abstract
This article delves into the interplay of culture, belief, and religion in the emotional expression of singing, emphasizing their influence on vocal performance and interpretation. Singing, as a universal art form, often carries the cultural and spiritual imprints of its origins, with lyrics and melodies reflecting societal values, religious practices, and philosophical outlooks. The study highlights how understanding the cultural and religious context of a song enhances a singer's ability to convey its emotional depth authentically. By examining examples such as folk music rooted in traditional beliefs and hymns that embody spiritual devotion, the article illustrates how cultural and religious narratives shape vocal techniques and emotional delivery. It also explores the role of music as a bridge between diverse cultural identities, fostering empathy and shared experiences. This work affirms that integrating cultural and religious awareness into singing practices not only enriches performance but also deepens the connection between the singer, the audience, and the essence of the music. This article presented (1) emotions in singing, and (2) create emotions in singing.
