The Perception towards Protection for Motor Vehicle Victims Act B.E. 2535 of Youths Using Motorcycles in Suratthani Province

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to explore the levels of awareness and factors affecting the youth’s knowledge about the B.E.2535 Protection for Motor Vehicle Victims Act. The study also intended to identify relationship between those factors and the levels of awareness. The population was 400 youths who lived and used motorcycles in Muang district of Surat Thani province. Analysis was conducted with descriptive and test hypothesis with t-test, F-test, one-way variance and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient.


The result showed an overall high level of the youth’s awareness of Protection for Motor Vehicle Victims Act B.E.2535 in these factors, namely, attitude, inspirations, interests, experiences, and expectations. The youth’s perception about the Act was at high level on objective, enforcement, coverage, indemnity and penalty


The study of the relationship between overall perception and factors of the youth’s knowledge about the B.E.2535 Protection for Motor Vehicle Victims Act, especially in motivation, expectations, interests and experiences was identified as highly positive correlation with statistically significant at the 0.01 level.
