Corona Virus Outbreak: The International Law Sanitary Measures
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this academic article is to examine the legal principles of both Thai and International legal measures that deal with the Corona Virus outbreak. There are several challenges and benefits in approaching legal measures to solve the Corona Virus outbreak problem across the boundaries which affect the economy and society in various aspects including the tourism industry. In this crisis, each country legislates public health measures and issues both internal and international legal measures as tools to control the Corona Virus outbreak. As the Corona Virus epidemic is predicted to be more severe in the future due to travelling and the borderless importation and exportation of goods, Thailand has to take action in response to the situation. Whereas the Corona Virus outbreak from animal to human and human to human continues dramatically, economic development must not be impeded. This article, therefore, analyzes both domestic and international legal measures that the government needs to take into consideration to counterbalance public well-being and economic value. The issues concerning international law sanitary measures include the International Health Regulations, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, the General Agreement on Trade and Tariff, and the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.
