Abstract

A few studies selected by the author indicate failures of economic systems run by self- interested motive under neoclassical economics. An alternative governance based on Buddhism provides a hope for Thai society and worth exploring into. Meanwhile there were another studies indicating the necessity of virtue for organizational prosperity, especially for public organizations that requires strong support from all stakeholders. A theoretical framework of Buddhist governance, based on rules of practice in perfect conformity to the Dhamma (Dhammanudhammapatipatti) is developed and tested against a few private governance systems.
