Abstract
The objectives of this study were 1) to study the level of quality of life and happiness of workers in Generation Y, and 2) to investigate the association between Generation Y workers' views of happiness and their quality of life. The sample included 515 working people aged 25 to 44 in metropolitan Bangkok. The data collection employed a questionnaire with a confidence value of 0.926. The statistics used were for data analysis, such as percentage, average, standard deviation, and testing the hypothesis by using multiple regression analysis. The study's findings revealed the following: 1) The majority of respondents were female, between the ages of 27 and 34, single, and earning an average monthly salary of 25,000 Baht or less. 2) The respondents' scores in all four domains and their overall life quality score were in the “good” range. Their level of happiness was “fair”, with 28.35% expressing more happiness than the average, 41.94% indicating “moderate” happiness, and 29.71% reporting “low” happiness levels. 3) The quality of life has a positive impact on Generation Y workers' happiness at a statistically significant level of .01. Social relationships was the factor that had the highest effect on happiness (Beta=0.280), following physical health (Beta=0.218), environment (Beta=0.186) and psychological health (Beta=0.170), respectively.
