Bang Ban Capitalocene Reflection on water governance in the lower Chao Pharya basin area

Abstract
This article is documentary research which uses three frameworks: politics of water governance, Capitalocence, and spatial fix, to understand how capitalism fix space and geography in Capitalocene which elucidates through case study in Bang Ban Monkey Cheek area, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The study's findings revealed that capitalism and Thai state implemented Bang Ban Monkey Cheek policy which aims at safeguarding capitalism’s activities in the lower Chao Pharya basin area such as urban and industrial zones by the management, the possession, and the distribution of each part of the world. This has been achieved through the introduction of a new rice planting calendar, the reproduction of water infrastructure functions from water distribution for planting rice to water distribution for protecting urban and industrial zones from flooding. This water governance within the Bang Ban Monkey Cheek resulted in restructuring of water flow and has led to negative impacts on local community such as long-time flooding, environmental injustice and so on.
