Change Management of the New Normal Patient Care Units by Head Nurses In Hospitals, Health Region 9, Ministry of Public Health

Abstract

          The descriptive comparative research aimed to study the change management of wards and compare the change management of the new normal patient care units by head nurses in hospitals, health region 9, Data collection was conducted between July to December, 2021 with 190 sample sizes of head nurses contributed by questionnaires for data collecting including to the general information questionnaire and the questionnaire for change management of wards. Content validity index is .97 and Cronbach alpha coefficient is .98. Descriptive statistics consisted of 95%CI, One-way ANOVA and Scheffe are provided for data analysis.
           The results revealed as these followings: 1) The changes management of wards by the head nurses, overall average was at a high level with ( = 4.07, S.D. = 0.55 and 95%CI = 3.99 - 4.15) 2) Comparison for the change management of the new normal patient care units by head nurses between hospitals found at least two sites were statistically different with (F = 4.57, p = .011. 3) The mean scores on the alliable developments for change were different between general hospital centers with (p = .003) and community hospitals with (p = .027) The vision communication revealed differences between community hospitals with (p = .030) and the hospital centers with (p = .001) The short-term goals establishment and rewarding achievements revealed the difference between the community hospitals and the general hospital centers with (p = .036). Consequently, the results are able to develop a nurse role promotion program on participation for the change.
