A Study of Scientific Concepts on the Topic of Weather among Grade 7 Students at Wat Khemapirataram School after conducting class with a Model-based Learning Management

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were: 1) to study scientific concepts on weather using model-based learning management for Grade 7 students at Watkhemapirataram School, and 2) to compare the ability to create scientific models of Grade 7 students between the pretest and posttest through model-based learning management. The sample consisted of 56 Grade 7 students from Watkhemapirataram School in the second semester of the academic year 2022, selected through simple random sampling. The tools used in the research were: 1) a science subject lesson plan using model-based learning management, 2) a conceptual test on the topic of weather, and 3) a test to measure the ability to create scientific models. The statistical analyses used in the research included mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
          The research results indicated that: 1) the scientific concept of weather among Grade 7 students at Watkhemapirataram School after learning through the model-based learning management was higher than before, significant at the .05 level, and 2) the students’ ability to create scientific models on the topic of weather after learning through the model-based learning management was higher than before , significant at the .05 level.
