The Development of Phonics Learning Package for Enhancing English Pronunciation Ability of Prathomsuksa 3 Students for Banwunghuadoy School Under the Office of Nammun-Hardlar School Cluster of Uttaradit Province

Abstract

          The administration of English instruction at Ban Wang Hua Doi School discovered that students struggle with accurately pronouncing words in the language. not familiar with proper spelling usage. The reason for this is because English teachers lack experience in the classroom. The teacher employs the whole-word approach, which is a technique for teaching vocabulary that involves memorization of words. There isn't any suitable media or skill-training program to promote learning. Because of this, students are unmotivated to pick up new terminology. When pursuing higher education These issues have an impact on third-grade teaching and learning strategies.
        The objectives of this research were to 1) create and investigate the quality of the phonics learning package. and 2) compare the students’ English pronunciation ability between pre-learning and post-learning taught by phonics learning package. The samples were 12 students in Prathomsuksa 3 students of Wunghuadoy School and were selected by the sample of the school unit-based simple random sampling in semester 2, 2023. The research instruments were as follow; 1) 6 units of phonics learning package its average was 4.73.
        2) 11 lesson plans with phonics learning packages its average was 4.80  3) English pronunciation ability examination for 30 questions The IOC value of each item ranged was 1.00. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent samples.
        The results showed 1) the creating and investigating the quality of the phonics learning package evaluated by all 3 experts, the average quality assessment results were at the highest level (xˉ = 4.73, S.D. = 0.31) 2) The students developed higher level of English pronunciation ability after studying at the .05 level of significance.
         On conclusion, the phonics learning packages designed to help pronunciation and spelling English vocabulary for Prathomsuksa 3 students. It is a series of lessons designed to assist  students enhance their reading pronunciation and spelling skills. This is because the content style for this skill set contains fundamental vocabulary that enables children to learn English vocabulary, vowels, consonants, and basic spellings.
