Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine causal factors affecting innovative work behavior of academic support staff in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. The samples were selected by stratified sampling. The population consisted of academic support staff in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. The total sample in this study was consisted of five hundred and fourteen individuals. There were six tests the questionnaire with an internal consistency reliability of 0.923-0.984. The descriptive statistics were analyzed by SPSS for Windows while confirmatory factor analysis and structural relationship were analyzed by LISREL. The research findings were as follows: The hypothesized structural relationships of the antecedents of innovative work behavior of academic support staff in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi was adjusted in harmony with the fitted empirical data ( =597.30, df= 155; p< 0.01, SRMR= 0.046, RMSEA= 0.075, GFI= 0.90, NFI= 0.98, CFI= 0.99, NNFI= 0.98, PNFI= 0.73). In terms of innovative work behavior, the variables that had direct positive effects were: work engagement and psychological empowerment. In addition, the variables which had indirect positive effects were: transformational leadership, positive psychological capital and psychological empowerment. These variables accounted for fifty nine percent of the variance of innovative work behavior.
