Development of the Teacher Manual to Enhancing Learners' Competency, Bamnet Narong Industrial and Community Education College, Office of the Vocational Education Commission

Abstract

     The  purposes  of  this  research  were  to : 1)  studying  conditions, necessary  skills  needed  for  self-employment;  and  guidelines  for  developing  teacher  manual  2)  developing  teacher  manual  3)  experimenting  teacher  manual  4)  follow  up  the  training  results  and  improving  the  teacher  manual.  The  samples  were  alumni  who  are  success  in  self-employed; teachers  and  learners  at  Bamnet  Narong  Industrial  and  Community  Education  College, academic  year  2019  and  2020.  The  tools  used  in  this  research  were  teacher's manual, test, activity  assessment  forms.  The  data  were  analyzed  by  percentage,  mean  (), standard  deviation  (S.D.), and  t-test  dependent.  The  results  of  the  research  were :


        1.  The  results  of  the  study  of  conditions, needs  and  guidelines  for  development  of  the  teacher's  manual  revealed  that  the  skills needed  to  be  a  self-employed  person  consisted  of : writing  a  business  plan,  weaknesses  and  strengths  assessment, business  networking  and  money  management


        2.  The  result  for  teacher  manual  development  found  that, it  consists  of  4  units : 1)  business  networking  2)  business  weaknesses  and  strengths  assessment  3)  money  management  and  4)  business  plan  writing. The  quality  assessment  for  the  teacher  manual  resulted  at  highest  level


        3.  The  results  of  using  teacher  manual  showed  that  the  learners  had  the  posttest  score  higher  than  pretest.  Indicated  efficiency  of  the  teacher  manual  that  they  became  higher  test  results  after  the  training  than  before  the  training  with  statistical  significance  at  the  level  of  p<.01, the  efficiency  of  the  teacher  manual  was  89.20/92.84  and  the effectiveness  index  (E.I.)  of  the  teacher  manual  was  0.88


        4.  The  results  of  follow-up  learners  after  the  training  revealed  that  self-employed  learners  had  good  performance.  No  outstanding  debt.  The  atisfaction  of  the  school  administrators  and  teachers  was  at  the  highest  level.  The  resulted  from  employment  monitoring  of  graduates  showed  increase  tendency  to  higher  study  and self-employment.  For  the  development  of  a  teacher  manual  to  enhance  the  student's  competency  in  self-employed,  important  content  has  been  updated  in  accordance  with  the  current  situation.
