GUIDELINES FOR MAKING MERIT AND PAYING RESPECT TO MONKS AT WAT MANGKON KAMALAWAT (LENG NEI YI)

Abstract

This article aims to analyze guidelines for making merit and paying respect to monks at Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Leng Nei Yi). This research model is a quantitative research. The sample group was 384 Buddhists in Bangkok who had come to make merit at Wat Mangkon Kamalawat using the tables of Krejcie & Morgan. This research instrument was a questionnaire, analyzed by content analysis. Buddhists have suggestions for decision making to make merit at Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Leng Nei Yi) which is 1) the temple is well organized in order to buy things, make merit, and pay respect to monks to enhance the fortune. 2) Insufficient parking space, which has to pay for parking in nearby places. 3) The smell of incense is quite a lot may cause pollution to the surrounding communities. 4) There should be more publicity for various merit-making activities of the temple in a variety of channels, and 5) the buildings are beautiful chinese architecture. and the bathroom is not very clean
