READINESS PREPARATION FOR BUILDING SECURITY AFTER RETIREMENT OF THE FAMILY OF POLICE OFFICERS IN BANGKOK

Abstract

This research article is part of dissertation titled “Preparation for building security after retirement of police officers' families in Bangkok”. The objectives are: 1) to study the preparation for building security after retirement of police officers' families in Bangkok; 2) to study the components affecting the construction of police officers' families in Bangkok; and 3) to synthesize a model of Security of police officers' families in Bangkok. The research methodology in this study was a mixed method research consisting of documentary research, qualitative research, and action Research. There were problems with preparing for security after retirement in 4 areas: 1) housing preparation, it was found that many police officers do not have their own residence until the retirement date. 2) Career preparation, it was noted that many police officers do not have additional occupations or do not have knowledge and ability to engage in supplementary occupations after retirement. 3) Preparing for saving money. It was found that many police officers do not have savings for emergency use or for investment after retirement or still having unpaid debts until the retirement date; and 4) preparing for physical health, it was noticed that the police officers did not pay attention to the maintenance of their physical health. Many have lost their lives or were unable to help themselves. It is a burden to family and others since he was in government service or shortly after retirement
