บทความวิชาการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์แนวคิดและบทบาทของการมีส่วนร่วมระหว่างชุมชนและภาครัฐในการขับเคลื่อนการจัดการขยะให้เป็นศูนย์อย่างยั่งยืน โดยใช้กรอบแนวคิดการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชน เศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน และการบริหารภาครัฐแนวใหม่เป็นฐานในการวิเคราะห์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การจัดการขยะให้เป็นศูนย์จำเป็นต้องอาศัยการมีส่วนร่วมเชิงรุกของชุมชนในทุกขั้นตอน ตั้งแต่การสร้างจิตสำนึก การจัดตั้งกลไกชุมชน ไปจนถึงการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันกับภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน การใช้เทคโนโลยีดิจิทัล ปัญญาประดิษฐ์ ข้อมูลขนาดใหญ่ และอินเทอร์เน็ตของสรรพสิ่ง รวมทั้งความร่วมมือระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน ช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพของระบบการจัดการขยะอย่างเป็นระบบ บทความเสนอให้ภาครัฐสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้ของชุมชน การสร้างแรงจูงใจทางเศรษฐกิจ และการกำหนดนโยบายร่วมที่ส่งเสริมการขับเคลื่อนสังคมปลอดขยะอย่างยั่งยืน
