THE ROLE OF MONKS IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT RONPIBOON DISTRICTS NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE

Abstract
The objectives of this research were as following 1) to study the role of monks in community development, Ronpibum district, Nakhon siThammarat province 2) To compare role of monks in community development, Ronpibum district, Nakhon siThammarat province in terms of sexes, ages, degrees of education, occupations and monthly incomes as differently. 3) to study the suggestions on the guideline for promotion of monk’s role in community development accordion to people’s opinion. The population for this research were composed of people who live in the area of Ronpibun district, Nakhon siThammarat province. There are 82,754 person, Sample size by Krejcie and Morgan’s table measurement, The samples were about 368 persons. The instrument for data collection was questionnaire both closed - open end questions, data analysis by package computer program, The statistics were analysed as follow; percentage, mean, standard deviation, t - test, F - test, and Scheffe’s method (one way ANOVA).
The findings were as follows:
1. The role of monks in community development, Ronpibun district,Nakhon siThammarat provinceby overview was at moderate level ( =3.34) when considered in each aspect from more less found that the aspect of environment and natural resource conservation was the highest mean ( =3.72) and followed up the aspect of spiritual leader ( =3.50) the aspect of tradition and culture ( =3.30)the aspect of economic promotion ( =3.24) the aspect of social promotion ( =3.16)and the aspect of educational promotion ( =3.12) when classified in terms of sex, age, degree of education, occupation and monthly income found that all terms are at moderate level.
2. The comparative result on the role of monk in community development, Ronpibun district,Nakhon siThammarat province in terms of occupations and monthly income found that there were different as statistically significance at .05 but in terms of sex, age, degree of education, of education that there were not different.
3. The suggestions on guideline to promote of monk’s role in community development, Ronpibun district,Nakhon siThammarat province found that the aspect of educational promotion was the highest; There should promote all systematic education management, non-systematic educational management and independent studies as long life under co-operation of people, family, community, there should promote on welfare to teacher, student, educational personnel and recipicut with collection of resources from all sections to school under responsibility.
