Abstract

               The purpose of thesis is to study the role of monks preserving the long boat racing in Wat Ban YEE, district Bang Klam, province Songkhla, with three main objectives as follows: 1) To study the preservation of long boat races, Wat Bang Yee, Bang Klam, Songkhla, 2) To study the role of monks in preserving the long boat racing tradition, Wat Bang Yee, Bang Klam, Songkhla, and 3) Thai traditional boat race Wat Bang Yee, Bang Klam, Songkhla. This research is a qualitative research. The research found that the role of the monks in preserving the long boat race, Wat Bang Yee, Bang Klam, Songkhla. The monks support to preserve and help to promote the local culture as a source of public mind and to create harmony in the community. This may be Co-operative because the monks have joined hands with the villagers in preserving the long tradition boat racing, the value of the heritage of the countryside and Thai Traditions.
