THE CREATION OF WATERCOLOR WORKS THAT REFLECT THE WAY OF LIFE OF THE URBAN SOCIETY IN NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE

Abstract

Nakhon Pathom is one of the provinces in the Central Region and is adjacent to Bangkok the capital of thailand. It has beautiful landscapes and environments. The architecture of historical and cultural monuments and community areas reflect the lifestyle of the people of Nakhon Pathom. The city structure consists of buildings, old residences, and business areas inherited from generation to generation from the past. All have aesthetic beauty coupled with cultural and artistic value which is still relatively rare and may change through time. Despite the researcher not being a native of Nakhon Pathom, by living for some time he has become a part of this society, therefore treasuring the memories of these places. From the aforementioned, Nakhon Pathom continuously changes in landscape when technology and development play a vital role in daily life. Thus, this inspired the researcher for this project to create artwork. The researcher is interested in presenting the atmosphere of the environment and in studying painting pieces by master artists, textbooks, academic documents, and media related to watercolor painting from various websites. These helped create landscape watercolor paintings using the researcher’s personal style and identity to convey the way of life and culture of the community in Nakhon Pathom Province.
