The Model of Economic Development based on Local Wisdom in the Upper Central Provinces

Abstract

This Article aimed to (1) study and analyze the based economic development and local wisdom promotion in the upper central provinces; and (2) propose a model of the based economic development and local wisdom promotion in Ayutthaya Province. It is a qualitative research with the research methods as follows: it is to study data of provinces and areas of the case study these include the Upper Central Provinces; the collected data were analyzed by in-depth interviews and workshops; and also two types of tools were used: 1) a project-based interview-form collecting data from 3 groups of experts: legal supporters; Network partners as well as group of 18 entrepreneurs as the analytical unit; and 2) Participatory observation by using the stakeholders workshop's information-record form. The collected data were analyzed in 2 ways: 1) Content Analysis and 2) Analytic Induction. The findings revealed that the upper central provinces consist of Chainat, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Sing Buri, and Ang Thong with Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya as the center of strategic administration provincial group regarded as a new form of integrated administration by grouping the provinces that have connections in various fields together due to integrated economic activities such as the cultural tourism industry, Industrial and logistics with a wide range of products and services connected with other regions; and in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province there are medium and small businesses with products and services developed from local wisdom to generate income for the province. And also there are many support organizations. Additionally, the integrated working system should be developed, especially in the area of participation in solving problems at the local level.
