The Integration of Community Multi-disciplinary with the Construction of Area-based Child Protection Pathway in Pluk Rad Sub-district, Bang Rakam District, Phitsanulok Province

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the Multidisciplinary operations, obstacles, and child protection system in the domestic areas by conducting in-depth interviews with the involved officers, including social workers, nurses, psychologists, Village Health Volunteers, the Children and Youth Council, and local government members. The result of the study found that, currently, there are child protection measures implemented from several agencies, with the Children's Homes and families as the working core of collaboration with local and other organizations within the areas. Surprisingly, the challenges and impediments discovered are that the practitioners have differing perspectives on children's rights and professional ethics standards; such as, practitioners from various backgrounds must collaborate to develop common child safety strategies. There is also an unavoidable structural barrier: the parental generation of children has been drawn to cities, leaving many children with grandparents, and many families are unaware of the value of child development and education. As a result, it is essential to convey to more local people the concept that children are not the property of the family but are valued citizens of the nation, and that children own their own lives, in addition to developing additional resources to assist the care of family children.
