The attitudes of people in Bangkok towards the enforcement of the driver's license points deduction policy

Abstract

This study aims to (1) examine the attitudes of people in Bangkok towards the enforcement of the driver's license points deduction policy, (2) investigate their awareness of information regarding this policy, and (3) compare attitudes based on personal factors. The research uses a quantitative method, with data collected through questionnaires from the random sampling of 400 people. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics to find frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and hypothesis testing using an independent t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results show that the overall attitude of people in Bangkok towards the license point deduction policy is high. When considered by aspect, the highest mean is for the payment channels and information verification, followed by the appropriateness of the policy, and lastly, the policy's effectiveness. When classified by personal factors such as gender, age, education level, occupation, and type of vehicle, there were no significant differences in attitudes at the 0.05 level. This research suggests that the government should introduce additional measures, such as increasing penalties for traffic violations, raising fine rates, and enhancing the promotion of the driver's license points deduction policy.
