Study the Understanding about Islamic Contraception of Married Couples in Charolaeko Community, Narathiwat Province

Abstract

This study is a quantitative research. The objective of this study is to explore the understanding about contraception in Islam of married couples in the community of Ban Charolaeko. By studying and researching information from the Quran al-Hadith, books, texts, academic documents including various data that related. The number of sample is determined according to the Krecie and Morgan table, 74 people that living in Ban Charolaeko Community, Narathiwat Province which use Simple Random Sampling. The questionnaire was used to analyze the mean and standard deviation. The results of the research showed that explore the understanding of contraception in Islam of married couples in the Charolaeko communities Overall is at a high level with mean of 4.32 and the standard deviation of 0.67. Most of the respondents saw that Islam does not allow contraception unless necessary. Because the contraception to prevent having children is considered an act that denies the subsistence of which is endowed by God Moreover, the goal of that marriage is to expand the human race. The results of this research also indicate that the sample group emphasized the importance of contraception by strictly adhering to the framework and scope of the Islamic provisions.
