Guidelines for Promoting Classroom Research of School Administrators under the Chanthaburi Primary Educational Service Area 1

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to 1) survey the opinions of school teachers under the Chanthaburi Primary Educational Service Area 1 about the promotion of classroom research of school administrators, 2) propose guidelines to promote classroom research to the school administrators. The research tools were a questionnaire for teachers and an interview form for administrators. The samples responding to the questionnaire were 298 elementary teachers, under the Office of Chanthaburi Primary Educational Service Area 1. The interviews were conducted with 6 school administrators. The analysis of data from questionnaires showed that the overall supports and each aspect of school administrators were at a very good level. The analysis of administrators’ interviews was summarized as the guidelines for the development of classroom research promotion comprising: Administrators 1) should have a policy to encourage all teachers to conduct classroom research, 2) support and enhance teachers’ knowledge about research methodology, 3) support resources needed to facilitate classroom research, 4) build awareness, motivation, monitoring the implementation of classroom research in a systematic and continuous manner.
