CREATION RELIGIOUS DESCENADANTS THROUGH THE SUMMER NOVICE ORDINATION PROGRAM

Abstract

This academic article aimed to study 1. Religious descendants in Buddhism. 2.Novice ordination process in summer 3. Cultivating morals and ethics for religious heirs. The study was found that 1) “Religious descendants” in Buddhism may refer to those who inherited Buddhist teachings. In this case, there were two main types of novices: briefly and 2. those who have been ordained to study and practice Dharma for a long time until the time of ordination as a monk 2) The summer novice ordination program was a process of cultivating morality and ethics through projects or activities created for young people to know morality, with preliminary treatment in terms of discipline. 3) Cultivation of morality and ethics was important because in this era of globalization, there is a fast pace in communication. But the important thing that is missing is the matter of morality, whether young people or the general public may forget about it. Summer novice ordination is therefore an activity that allows parents to access the Buddhist traditions that must maintain precepts and have ethics and there were various activities that induced patience, tolerance and instill morality through youth who have been ordained in Buddhism.
