ZERO WASTE MANAGEMENT, A GUIDELINE FOR A SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

This academic article talked about the concept of waste management, zero waste (Zero Waste) because at present, the problem of solid waste is an environmental problem that is facing all over the world. The amount of solid waste is increasing rapidly. It affected the environment in terms of air quality, soil quality, and water resources, including global warming. The concept of zero waste management is a concept that focuses on reducing the amount of solid waste sent for disposal to zero. It focuses on reducing the amount of waste generated at the source through the 3R’s principle, which includes reducing (Reduce) the use of materials that creates waste, reusing (Reuse) materials that can still be used again. and recycling, (Recycle) materials that can be processed into new materials. The objectives were: 1. To study the concepts and principles of waste management, zero waste (Zero Waste), 2. To study approaches and methods for reducing the amount of waste according to the 3Rs, and 3. To suggest guidelines for promoting the use of management concepts Zero Waste into practice.

 This study is expected to be beneficial to the development of sustainable waste management in Thailand. It can help increase knowledge and understanding about the concepts and principles of zero waste management, guidelines and methods for reducing waste according to the 3Rs, as well as the impact of zero waste management on the environment. This will lead to the development of guidelines for promoting the implementation of the Zero Waste management concept into efficient and sustainable practice.
