MANAGEMENT OF THE SUMMER NOVICE ORDINATION PROJECT OF THE SANGHA IN PHRA NAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. to survey the internal and external environment 2. to design the process 3. to create a management model for the summer novice ordination project of the Sangha in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It was mixed-method research. The quantitative part collected data from 258 monks in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, while the qualitative part interviewed 14 key informants. The data were analyzed by calculating frequency and percentage, and qualitatively through description and integration to create new knowledge.

The research results were found that: 1. The internal and external environments for the management of the summer novice ordination project of the Sangha in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province was found that 1.1 There was a policy from the Sangha Chief of Region 2 that each sub-district must have at least one place to manage. 1.2 Youth who were interested in further education in the areas of Buddhist scriptures, Dhamma, Pali, or higher education. 1.3 Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan has a policy to accept children who have not completed primary school year 6, aged 10 years and above, to be ordained continuously. 1.4 Focus on youth in the area that gave children the opportunity to study both secular and religious matters. 2. The process of managing the summer novice ordination project of the monks in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province was that: 2.1 The project management according to the 4 M management principles was at a very high operational level. 2.2 The project management according to the 4 Iddhipada principles was at a very high operational level. 3. Management of the Summer Novice Ordination Project in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province includes: 3.1 Preparation: Each sub-district Sangha prepares thoroughly for project implementation. 3.2 Planning: Clear step-by-step plans and policies are established. 3.3 Training: Programs are tailored to participants’ knowledge and experience. 3.4 Practice: Activities promote strict discipline and practical learning. 3.5 Evaluation: Learners are assessed through discipline, merit-making, and participation.
