Abstract

          The objective of the study: to explain the meaning of happiness and the facing things that change happiness in menopausal women. Data was collected by in-depth interviewed of 25 women (aged between 45-59 years) in Phitsanulok province. The total period of data collection was 8 months from August 2015 to March 2016. The result found that, each woman meant happiness differently and the meanings could be classified into four main groups such as having a good relationship with family, having a simple life without worry, healthy and doing things as desire. Women faced what could change their happiness in various ways, including 1) comprehension 2) acceptance 3) Tolerance 4) emotional expression 5) Inaction. This study suggests that conscious, ability to control emotions, problem-solving skill and having a good relationship with family and others are important for women to face things that change happiness.
