Abstract

            The purpose of this article is to examine Milton Friedman’s ideas as a foundation to understand the concept on corporate social responsibility (CSR). This article is divided into three parts: the first part is about Friedman and liberal capitalism; when the economic freedom takes precedence over politics, it can provide good results for society particularly free market. The second section is about the social responsibility of business; clearly, the role of executive is to merely increase profits to shareholders. Last but not least, this section discusses on open-ended questions that shared assembly from the first two on how executives could have social responsibility.
