- Academic Article: AJAC's academic articles focus on works that critically engage with existing knowledge, theories, or practices about Asian cultures and societies. These may include review articles, literature surveys, theoretical analyses, or reflective essays that offer critical insights, syntheses, or conceptual advancements without necessarily presenting original research data. Manuscript and references should be approximately 4,000 – 7,000 words, includes abstract of 300 words.
- Book Review: A book review evaluates and critiques a recently published book relevant to Asian cultures and societies. It goes beyond summarizing the book, offering an overview of its content, assessing its contributions to the field, and highlighting its strengths and limitations. The goal is to guide readers on the book's scholarly value and its relevance to ongoing discussions or research. Manuscript should not exceed 2,000 words.
