Abstract

In this thesis, the researcher studies and compares the administration of student support systems as perceived by teachers in the northern Bangkok school group under the jurisdiction of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) as classified by demographical characteristics in four aspects. The demographical characteristics are gender, educational level, school size, and teaching experience. The four aspects are: (1) preparation and planning; (2) operational planning; (3) supervision, monitoring, and follow-ups; and (4) evaluation. The sample population consisted of 331 teachers in the northern Bangkok school group under the jurisdiction of BMA. The research instrument was a five-rating scale questionnaire comprised couched at the reliability level of 0.82. Using techniques of descriptive statistics, the researcher analyzed the data collected in terms of frequency, percentage, mean (M) and standard deviation (SD). In hypothesis testing, the researcher employed the independent samples t test and the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) techniques in addition to Scheffé’s post hoc comparison methods. Findings are as follows:
1. In studying the administration of student support systems as perceived by the teachers, it was overall found to be perceived at a high level. When considered in each aspect, it was found that all aspects were found to be expressed at a high level in the following descending order: operational planning; evaluation; preparation and planning; and supervision, monitoring, and follow-ups.
2. In comparing the administration of the student support system as perceived by teachers as classified by gender, educational level, school size, and teaching experience, the results were as follows:
no corresponding differences were found overall.
