Abstract

This research aimed 1) to study the condition of team building and 2) to study the approach of team building of the school executives in the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 38, Sukhothai province. The research was divided into two parts: Part 1 The study of condition of “Team Building”, of the school executives in the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 38, Sukhothai province. In this part, the questionnaire was used to measure the attitudes of 297 secondary school teachers. Descriptive statistics was used to describe frequency, percentage and standard deviation. Part 2 The study of approach of “Team Building” of the school executives in the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 38. In Part 2, the in-depth interview was performed by interviewing 5 experts. Data were analyzed using content analysis method. Results indicated that:
1. The condition of team building of the school executives in the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 38 had the overall score at the high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the most practical aspects were the performance of the team followed by the performance assessment, work planning, and perception of the problems aspect, respectively. All aspects had score at the high level. Further, the data collection had the lowest score; however, this aspect also had score at the high level.
2. The findings of the study of team building approach of the school executives in the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 38 indicated that there should arrange a consultation meeting among members to raise ideas and to make clear that the ideas are accepted by the majority. The executives should participate in the working process. They must know their roles, work at full capacity, create good working atmosphere, have good human relations, build employee morale, be a good leader, dare to make decisions, and fair in assessment of team performance in order to achieve the goals.
