LOCAL-BASED RECREATION ACTIVITY FOR PROMOTING ELDERLY’S WELL-BEING

Abstract
This research on the study of Local-based Recreation Program for Promoting Elderly’s Well-Being. It's an experimental research. The objectives were 1) to study the environment and the potential of each community context and to suggest ways to improve the health of the elderly by Local-based Recreation Program for Promoting Elderly’s Well-Being, 2) to design activities for Local-based Recreation Program for Promoting Elderly’s Well-Being, and 3) a questionnaire on opinions towards participating in folk recreation activities to promote well-being of the elderly. The sample used in the research was Tha Thong Sub-district Elderly School, Phitsanulok by purposive selection according to the established criteria from 60 elderly people who have registered to participate in the activity. The research tools were 1) a questionnaire on environment and the potential of each community context and to suggest ways to improve the well-Being of the elderly by local-based recreation program for promoting elderly’s well-being and 2) the opinion assessment form on participation in folk recreation activities for promoting well-being of the elderly. Data analyzed by mean standard deviation. The results showed that 1) Most of the elderly who come to study do not have Non-Communicable Diseases such as high blood pressure. hyperlipidemia and diabetes by participating in the activities of the elderly school, helping the elderly, even though they are not sick, will develop activities that help to take care of their physical health. mind and society, which is a way to prevent chronic non-communicable diseases in a recreational way Therefore, is a holistic method of preventing Non-Communicable Diseases. And 2) the results of the design of local recreation activities to promote well-being of the elderly are related to the living space context. way of life and in line with the needs of the elderly 2 games, namely Matching Game, Know Phitsanulok Snakes and Ladders Game Attractions in Phitsanulok Province Experts assessed suitability at a high level, and the opinions of the elderly towards participating in the activity were significantly higher than before participating in the activity.
