ดาราศาสตร์เป็นหนึ่งในศาสตร์ที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดอันหนึ่งและฝังรากลึกลงในทุกวัฒนธรรมอันเนื่องมาจากมีการเริ่มประยุกต์ใช้ความรู้ดาราศาสตร์ตั้งแต่อดีตในเรื่องของการเพาะปลูกและการเดินทาง ในปัจจุบันดาราศาสตร์ได้รับความสนใจอย่างมากจากคนทั่วโลกอย่างสม่ำเสมอ ตัวอย่างเช่นข่าววันสิ้นโลกในปี 2012 หลักสูตรแกนกลางการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน พุทธศักราช 2551 กำหนดให้การเรียนดาราศาสตร์ระดับประถมศึกษาเน้นการสร้างความเข้าใจการเกิดปรากฏการณ์ในชีวิตประจำวันและเทคโนโลยีอวกาศ อย่างไรก็ตามงานวิจัยระบุว่านักเรียนมีแนวคิดคลาดเคลื่อนเกี่ยวกับปรากฏการณ์ทางดาราศาสตร์ในระดับประถมศึกษา ข้อเสนอแนะสำหรับการจัดการเรียนการสอนดาราศาสตร์ระดับประถมศึกษาอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพจากการรวบรวมจากงานวิจัยได้มีการนำเสนอไว้ในตอนท้ายของบทความนี้

Abstract

Astronomy is one of the oldest disciplines and, as a result of its practical applications in agriculture and navigation, is deeply rooted in almost every culture. Ideas derived from astronomical concepts continue to catch the interest of many people throughout the world, for example, the belief that the world will end in 2012. The Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 set astronomy content for elementary level focusing on astronomical phenomena in dailylife and space technology. However, research has shown that there are many alternative conceptions about astronomical phenomena at elementary level. Suggestions for effective astronomy teaching that were drawn from research will be discussed at the end of this article.
