Abstract

This quantitative research aimed to 1) examine infographic consumption behavior in Thai online news, 2) investigate the relationship between attitudes and consumption behavioral trends toward infographics in Thai online news, and 3) explore factors that collectively predict attitudes toward infographics as a key mechanism leading to consumption behavior. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 128 respondents recruited through convenience sampling via online questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (t-test, ANOVA, Chi-square, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis). Prior to regression analysis, key assumptions were verified including multicollinearity (VIF < 10, Tolerance > 0.1), independence of errors (Durbin-Watson = 1.723), and normality of residuals. The findings revealed that: 1) the majority of respondents were female (55.5%), aged 15–22 years (53.1%), held bachelor’s degrees (71.1%), were students (53.1%), earned less than 5,000 baht monthly (21.1%), with daily infographic access (41.4%) primarily via smartphones (79.7%), and different demographic characteristics were significantly associated with different infographic exposure behaviors; 2) attitudes toward infographics showed a moderate positive correlation with consumption behavioral trends (r = .552, p < .001), consistent with the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA); and 3) perceived usefulness (β = .705) was the strongest predictor of attitudes, jointly explaining 66.6% of variance in attitudes with consumption behavioral trends (R² = .666, F = 124.400, p < .001).
