Abstract

The present study aimed to examine the factors affecting managerial trustworthy behavior. The participants consisted of 649 primary and secondary school teachers in Thailand. Multi-stage random sampling was used to draw a sample. Stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed between managerial trustworthy behavior as a dependent variable and transformational leadership, trust, trust propensity, perceived organizational justice, team psychological safety, value congruence, and social support as independent variables. The results indicated that altogether 78% of the variability in managerial trustworthy behavior was predicted by transformational leadership, trust, perceived organizational justice, team psychological safety, value congruence, and social support. However, perceived organizational justice, social support and trust, respectively made the most contribution to predicting managerial trustworthy behavior. Implications and future research are also discussed.
