การแก้ปัญหาวัยรุ่นไทยในทัศนะของท่านพุทธทาสภิกขุ Buddhadasa Bhikku’s Viewpoints on Dealing with Teenagers

Abstract

พุทธทาสภิกขุ กล่าวถึงวัยรุ่นอย่างเป็นระบบตั้งแต่ปัญหา สาเหตุ ปัจจัยหลักการ และข้อเสนอแนะในการแก้ไขปัญหา ท่านกล่าวว่าปัญหาของวัยรุ่นเกิดจากการบังคับตัวเองไม่ได้ ทำให้เกิดปัญหา 3 อย่าง คือ ยาเสพติด อันธพาล และอาชญากรรม อันมีสาเหตุหลัก คือ อำนาจ วัตถุนิยมได้แก่เรื่อง กิน กาม เกียรติ ซึ่งทำให้เกิดความโง่ ความหลงในวัตถุ เสรีภาพ ประชาธิปไตยที่เอาแต่ใจตนเองไม่ยอมฟังใคร สาเหตุนั้นมาจากปัจจัยหลัก ได้แก่ สภาพแวดล้อม ระบบการศึกษาและการไม่ได้รับความร่วมมือและโอกาส ท่านเสนอหลักการและข้อเสนอแนะ ในการแก้ไขปัญหาไว้ว่า ต้องปลูกฝังให้เยาวชนมีสัมมาทิฎฐิ มีหลัก 5 ดี ได้แก่ บุตรที่ดีศิษย์ที่ดี เพื่อนที่ดี พลเมืองที่ดี และเป็นพุทธมามกะที่ดี ท่านเสนอแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาวัยรุ่นไว้ 2 ข้อ คือ การกลับมาของศาสนา ได้แก่การเลิกวัตถุนิยมเลิกเคารพวัตถุนิยมและปัญหาดังกล่าว จะแก้ไขได้ก็ต่อเมื่อเยาวชนได้รับการศึกษาที่ถูกต้องทั้งในระบบและเรื่องศีลธรรมศาสนา

Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, one of the most famous and influential philosophers in Thailand, shared his view about Thai teenagers concerning the problems, the root causes, influence factors, and the suggestions towardsthe solutions. He mentioned that teenagers' problems are due to theirincapability in controlling themselves in which leads to problems in drugsaddiction, violence and crime. These all are the result of our materialismsociety seen in the greed for sensual pleasure and pseudo-dignity whichcauses ignorance and delusion. Having misunderstood these phenomena,they run into a world of materialism and do not turn their ears to anyonesince they believe in themselves, their right and freedom. According to Buddhadasa, these problems arise from environment, education and lackof opportunity. He suggests that teenagers should be taught wisely andcultivate them with the right view. His principles of being a quality person is to behave properly in the five roles as in being a child, a student, a friend,a citizen and a Buddhist. He also added that the only way to solve the teenagers’ problems is to bring back the role of religion and eliminate the power of materialism. To achieve this goal, teenagers must be educated formally on moral issues.
