แรงจูงใจในการเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสของนักเรียนแผนการเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาใน 14 จังหวัดภาคใต้ Motivation in Learning French of Secondary Schools Students in Fourteen Southern Provinces of Thailand

บทคัดย่อ

บทความวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแรงจูงใจในการเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสของนักเรียนแผนการเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายใน 14จังหวัดภาคใต้ โดยมีนักเรียนแผนการเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสที่กำลังเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 5 และ 6 ภาคการศึกษาที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2553 จากโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา32 โรงเรียน ใน 14 จังหวัดภาคใต้ จำนวน 549 คน เป็นกลุ่มตัวอย่าง ซึ่งได้จากการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน โดยการกำหนดขนาดของกลุ่มตัวอย่างและคัดเลือกแบบเจาะจงในขั้นแรก และการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบบังเอิญโดยให้นักเรียนจับสลากในขั้นที่สอง การวิจัยครั้งนี้ใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือวิจัย ผลการวิจัยพบว่านักเรียนเหล่านี้เลือกเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสเพราะมีแรงจูงใจที่แตกต่างกันดังนี้ ร้อยละ 66.1 เลือกเรียนแผนการเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสเพราะชอบประเทศฝรั่งเศส ภาษาและวัฒนธรรมฝรั่งเศส ร้อยละ 60.4 เพราะอยากมีพื้นความรู้ทางภาษาฝรั่งเศสเพื่อการศึกษาต่อในอนาคตในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย และเพราะคิดว่าภาษาฝรั่งเศสมีประโยชน์ต่อการทำงานในอนาคต ร้อยละ 52 เลือกเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสเพราะไม่มีความถนัดทางวิทยาศาสตร์และคณิตศาสตร์ ร้อยละ 44.6 เพราะคิดว่าตนเองมีความถนัดและความสนใจทางภาษา ร้อยละ 39.8 เพราะคิดว่าภาษาฝรั่งเศสมีประโยชน์ในชีวิตประจำวัน ร้อยละ 31.8 เพราะชอบอาจารย์ผู้สอนภาษาฝรั่งเศส

Abstract

This research article aimed to study the motivation in French learning of high school students from fourteen provinces in the southern region of Thailand. The samples were 549 high school students learning French in the second semester of 2010 academic year from 32 secondary schools in fourteen southern provinces. Multistage sampling including purposive sampling and random sampling was employed in the first and second stages, respectively. A questionnaire was used as a research instrument. The research findings showed that the students learned French because of different motivations: they liked France and French language and cultures (66.1%); they needed French as a background for their higher education (60.4%); they regarded French language advantageous for future careers (60.4%), they were not capable of learning sciences and mathematics (52.0%), they possessed skilled and were interested in languages (44.6%), they thought of its benefits in their daily life (39.8) and they liked French language teacher (31.8).
