DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH GRAMMARTICAL COMPETENCE IN COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE OF MATTAYOMSUKSA 4 STUDENTS IN RITTIYAWANNALAI 2 SCHOOL

Abstract

This research is classroom action research. The objectives were to study the grammatical competence of students learned by developing English grammatical competence on using comparative and superlative sentences, study the efficacy of the Lesson Plan on English grammatical competence development on using comparative and superlative sentences, and study the students’ satisfaction after studying using comparative and superlative sentences. The target group was 10 Mathayomsuksa 4/4 students of Rittiya Wannalai 2 School in the 2nd semester of academic year 2021 chosen by purposive sampling. The instruments were using comparative and superlative sentences lesson plans, achievement test on using comparative and superlative sentences, and questionnaire for students’ satisfaction towards learning of using comparative and superlative sentences. Statistics used in data analysis were mean, standard deviation, and percentage. The findings of study were that the grammatical competence of students learned by developing English grammatical competence on using comparative and superlative sentences was in a very good level (80.67%), the efficacy of using comparative and superlative sentences lesson plans was efficient (E1/E2: 85.00/80.67) which was higher than the specified criterion, and the students had a very high level of satisfaction toward learning of using comparative and superlative sentences (mean = 4.64).
