COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN WASTE SORTING AT LALIN TOWN LIO BLISS PHETKASEM-PHUTTHAMONTHON SAI 4, OM NOI SUBDISTRICT, KRATHUM BAEN DISTRICT, SAMUT SAKHON PROVINCE.

Abstract

This research aims to study: 1) community participation in waste sorting; 2) factors affecting participation in waste sorting; 3) approaches to promoting participation in waste sorting within the Lalin Town Lio Bliss community, Phetkasem-Phutthamonthon Sai 4, Om Noi Subdistrict, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province. The research population comprised residents of the Lalin community, with a sample size of 241 individuals. Key informants included 9 community committee members. Statistical methods employed included frequency, percentage, mean (x ̅), standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and correlation coefficient. Qualitative data analysis involved content analysis, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings revealed: 1) High levels of participation in waste sorting ((x ) ̅= 4.56); 2) High levels of influence from various factors on waste sorting participation (x ̅ = 4.53); 3) Hypothesis testing indicated no significant difference in opinions regarding waste sorting participation across different individual factors. However, problem-solving (r = .594) showed a strong positive correlation with factors influencing waste sorting participation; 4) Recommendations for promoting community waste sorting and proper disposal to reduce waste volume were provided.
