COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN THE PREVENTION AND SOLUTION OF DRUG PROBLEMS IN KLONG SONG TON NUN SUBDISTRICT, LAT KRABANG DISTRICT, BANGKOK, AT THE ROM KLAO HOUSING COMMUNITY.

Abstract

This research aims to study: 1) Community participation in drug prevention and suppression; 2) Factors affecting community participation in drug prevention and suppression; and 3) Approaches to building community participation in drug prevention and suppression in the Khet Rom Klao Housing Community, Khlong Song Ton Nun Subdistrict, Lat Krabang District, Bangkok. The research population consisted of residents in the Khet Rom Klao Housing Community, with a sample size of 397 individuals. Key informants included 19 community leaders. Statistical methods employed included frequency, percentage, meanx ̅standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and correlation coefficient. Qualitative data analysis involved content analysis and interpretation. Research Findings: 1) Overall community participation in drug prevention and suppression was high (x ̅ = 4.15); 2) Overall, factors affecting community participation in drug prevention and suppression were also high (x ̅ = 4.03); 3) Hypothesis testing revealed no significant difference in opinions regarding community participation in drug prevention and suppression among different personal factors. A strong positive correlation (r=.601) was found between prevention factors and community participation in drug prevention and suppression; 4) Approaches: The drug problem has decreased due to community collaboration in addressing the issue.
