The Model of Excellent College Administration by Establishing a Network of Academic Cooperation between Workplaces and the Aircraft Mechanic Program of Donmuang Technical College

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were 1) to study the teaching and learning management problems of Aircraft Mechanic Program of Donmuang Technical College, 2) to develop the model of excellent college administration by establishing a network of academic cooperation between workplaces and the Aircraft Mechanic Program of Donmuang Technical College, 3) to test the model of excellent college administration  by establishing a network of academic cooperation between workplaces and the Aircraft Mechanic Program of Donmuang Technical College, and, 4) to evaluate the model of excellent college administration by establishing a network of academic cooperation between workplaces and the Aircraft Mechanic Program of Donmuang Technical College. The research findings were as followed:

1. Concerning the problems of teaching and learning management of the Aircraft Mechanic Program, Donmuang Technical College, it was found that the curriculum, teachers, instruction media and laboratories were not up to the standard required. Moreover, regarding the academic planning, it was found that it lacked the participations of workplaces.


2. Regarding the model of the excellent college management, it was found that there were 8 elements that would be achieved. They were the target of a network of academic cooperation, the vocational competency of aircraft mechanic in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority standards, the process of establishing a network of academic cooperation, the scope of academic cooperation network, the committee board, the process of management, and, the evaluation of the model. It was also found that there were two key successes. They were the administrators’ leaderships on academy and supports of sources by workplaces.


3. Concerning the test of the model, it was shown that the graduated had professional competencies in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority standards and workplaces were overall satisfied with their competencies at the high level.


4. Regarding the evaluation of the model, it was revealed that the model was appropriate at the high level.
