Promoting Democracy of Local Administrative Organizations for Women In Wangsaphung District, Loei Province

Abstract

This thesis aims to study 1) the state of promoting democracy of local administrative organizations to women, 2) the performance, problems and obstacles in promoting democracy of local administrative organizations to women, 3) to propose guidelines for promoting democracy of local administrative organizations to women in Wang Saphung District, Loei Province. This research was qualitative by conducting in-depth interviews and included 10 local government leaders, 3 Wang Saphung community development officers, and 7 women leaders in Wang Saphung district, for a total of 20 people. The results showed that

1) The local government has a role in promoting democracy for women in Wang Saphung District, Loei Province in terms of educating women in the local villages on democratic approaches. There is public relations for people to exercise their rights according to their authority. Local governments screen political candidates. There was a campaign for people to go to the polls. Public relations campaigns and opportunities for women to participate in political activities that promote democracy, such as applying for executive positions, council members, employees, political communication through various channels, newsletters, online media, or via women's representatives. 2) Performance The work on problems and obstacles in promoting democracy for women in Wang Saphung District, Loei Province found that there was still a lack of budget to promote activities to develop women's potential. and women themselves, who adhere to the traditional patriarchal values, are rarely accepted by society, especially rural society. In addition, people are not cooperating as they should because there may be political miscommunication and lack of knowledge from promotion due to lack of budget. 3) Guidelines for promoting democracy of local governments for women in Wang Saphung District, Loei Province should be promoted in organizing forums to educate women. Promote political learning, provide a forum for public expression, and participate in government activities. Education should be promoted on the expression of interests, such as the preservation of public property.There should be a budget to support the development of personnel in order to promote women in another way. Political communication should promote awareness and analysis of fake news. Women's opinions should be heard in many areas. A channel for women to express their thoughts, needs and problems. Publicizing information should reach all groups and cover all aspects. It should also be true and up-to-date.
