Abstract

This research is documentary research aiming to provide academic clarification regarding the meaning, importance, principles, objectives, scope, duties, characteristics, similarities, and differences with educational management, duties, responsibilities, and skills of educational administrators including challenges to educational administration in the 21st century from the viewpoint of academics for the benefit of use in various occasions such as curriculum preparation, curriculum administration, teaching and learning, research, and educational administration practices, especially to the challenges of the 21st century. The research results found that educational administration covers many dimensions, such as educational levels, educational models, strategies, management, and levels of educational institutions. In the case of the educational institution level, it covers from the central level down to the educational institutions. Educational administration at the educational institution level is considered important because it is a base of practice that will enable the mobilization of human and material resources to achieve practical benefits. It is a base of practice that will help strengthen teaching and learning that will result in students receiving the right education from the right teachers. It is a practice base that will create influence that affects students to grow towards the goals set by having teachers lead the change among the challenges to educational administration in the 21st century.
