Public trust in the judiciary is essential for governance legitimacy and effectiveness, with digital transformation increasingly reshaping how courts operate and engage with citizens. This paper examines how the implementation of e-Court in Indonesia impacts public trust in the judiciary. Through conceptual analysis supported by empirical illustrations from Indonesia’s judicial digitalization experience, the study identifies four interconnected pathways through which e-Court affects public trust: enhanced operational transparency, improved judicial efficiency, increased accessibility, and strengthened accountability. While e-Court has significantly improved court operations and created favorable conditions for trust development, challenges remain, including the digital divide, uneven institutional readiness, and data security concerns. Addressing these issues is crucial to fully realize the potential of digital courts in building public trust. The findings contribute to understanding institutional trust dynamics in digitalized governance contexts and provide practical insights for policymakers implementing judicial modernization initiatives.
