Participation Process of Main Chapel Elevation to Strengthen Peaceful Community Based on Power of Bavorn according to Buddhist Peaceful Means

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the context, problems, and needs of the renovation of the new temple (Yai Paen) and the concept, theory, and conservation of religious properties. 2) study of Buddhist principles of peace that support the development of the process of participation in raising the temple to strengthen the peaceful community using the power of the Buddhist principles. 3) present the process of participation in raising the temple to strengthen the peaceful community using the power of Buddhist principles. This study is a mixed-method research, studying and researching information from the Tripitaka, commentaries, books, textbooks, research, related academic documents, websites, and interviews with key informants. The research results found that 1) when the temple is not in a complete condition, is damaged. The area of ​​the temple is lower than the road, and when it rains, the water will collect in the temple area. When there is a lot of water, it will cause the floor to sink and the temple is likely to collapse, making it impossible for the monks of Wat Mai (Yai Paen) to perform their religious duties. 2) achieve the success of participation in activities according to the set goals under the concept of participation from the beginning by having all relevant parties participate from the beginning before deciding to start the activity. The concept of stakeholder participation must cover the wide participation of the people, those affected or all stakeholders. The concept of sincere participation as a foundation of trust. The concept of flexible and suitable participation in all situations is integrated to create participation by the method of the Noble Eightfold Path, combining faith, charity, the principle of supply and the principle of non-destructiveness, integrated with the status of leaders, practitioners and supporters. 3) The process of participation in raising the temple to strengthen peaceful communities using the power of the Buddhist way of peace, with the following steps: 1) Participation in decision-making, 2) Participation in operations, 3) Participation in benefits, 4) Participation in evaluation results.
