Buddhist Methods of Dhamma Practice Management of Temples at Thanu Subdistrict in Uthai District of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

This research article aims to: 1) to investigate the general circumstances, 2) to examine the correlation between Pañcabala (The Five Powers) and the administration of Dhamma practice, and 3) to propose the Buddhist methodological management of Dhamma practice at temples in Thanu Sub-district, U-Thai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. This investigation employed mixed methodology research comprising quantitative research. The survey research utilized questionnaires administered to 267 Dhamma practitioners at Wat Sa Kae Meditation Center, Thanu Sub-district, U-Thai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The statistical analysis employed percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson's correlation coefficient.The qualitative research implemented structured interviews. Data collection was conducted with 12 key informants associated with meditation centers and analyzed through contextual descriptive analysis.

The findings indicated that: 1) the general circumstances of Dhamma practice administration at temples in Thanu Sub-district, U-Thai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province demonstrated the highest level in overall assessment, 2) the correlation between PDCA administrative principles and Buddhist methodological management of Dhamma practice at temples in Thanu Sub-district, U-Thai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province exhibited a substantially positive correlation at a relatively high level, 3) the Buddhist methodological management of Dhamma practice at temples in Thanu Sub-district, U-Thai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province comprised:Physical Infrastructure aspect: enhancement of Dhamma practice facilities, meditation pavilions, development of conference and training facilities, sanitation and restroom development, parking facility enhancement, environmental management development, and facility infrastructure development. Pedagogical aspect: facilitation of instructor participation in developmental training, procurement of external experienced instructors for consultation, establishment of specialized expertise, development of instructor networks, implementation of instructional technology, and coordination of activities with external instructors.Administrative aspect: establishment of monthly and annual Dhamma practice administrative plans, development of external organizational collaborations, enhancement of temple infrastructure, human resource administration, provision of youth-oriented programs, and development of administrative policies and procedures.
